DISHES: Porto's Bakery & Cafe

Don't be discouraged by the mass crowds and long lines, it moves fast and the food is definitely well worth the wait. Porto's Bakery & Cafe is a family-owned restaurant famous for their Latin American sandwiches, Potato Balls, meat pies, croquettes, and especially their sweet pastries and desserts!

After speaking to the enthusiastic customers in line and friendly staff, here is what I ordered:

Cubano (Cuban Sandwich): slow roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, butter, mayo/mustard, and pickles, on Cuban bread ($4.25)

Rellenito: sugar coated sweet plantain filled with black beans ($0.85)

Potato Ball (Papa rellena): mashed potato filled with seasoned ground beef, breaded, and fried ($0.85)

Meat Pie (Pastel de carne): puff pastry filled with seasoned ground beef ($0.70)

Chicken Croquette: chicken seasoned with spices, breaded, and fried ($0.85)

Guava Strudel Puff Pastry ($0.65)

Pina Colada Cake ($2.50)

I'm ready for my next visit to Porto's and trying their Cuban-style espresso ($1.35-$1.65)!

DISHES: Sushi Samba - Las Vegas Strip

When in Vegas, STAY at Palazzo, EAT at Sushi Samba. There you will find a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. I have to say, the presentation was impressive and the food was delicious.

1. Yamato: tuna, foie gras, osetra caviar, gold leaf ($19) - My Favorite
2. Yellowtail Ceviche Taquitos: served with spicy aji panca sauce and fresh lime ($6 each)
3. Kanpachi: yuzu, sea salt, black truffle oil ($17)
4. Sea Bass and Miso: served with Peruvian Corn ($16)
5. Ishi Yaki Hot Stone: japanese kobe beef ($27 per oz., 5 oz. min.)
